The James Family

As you saw in the last post, the James Family is my first family.  It consists of Kate, Kelly, Nikki, Mia and Fiona, right now.  As well as Kate's younger sister Skipper (I may change her name).  Not sure of the story line, yet.  Here are some pics I took this afternoon, they are slightly less fuzzy than the last.

  3. Hi Hailey! Welcome to the wonderful Barbie-Fashion doll-Action Figure blogoverse. I read Vanessa's article about your blog. So I am following your blog.

My name is Dana, but I usually use "D7ana" online because there are LOTS of Danas.

Like you and Vanessa, I have a blog, too. My blog is called "A Philly Collector of Playscale Dolls and Action Figures." I've played with dolls since I was a little girl. In my teens, I used "doll collector" to make my doll play more acceptable ;-P

I look forward to reading your posts. Happy play er "collecting."

  5. Hi Hailey,

I read about your blog on Van's Doll Treasures. I really like the picture of Kelly and her dog. One of the reasons your pictures are "fuzzy" is because you posed your family on a white cloth. They are all fair-skinned and the white cloth reflected more light back into the camera lens. Consequently the camera didn't know which parts of the image were the subject (the part you really want people to see." You can probably get better results by posing your family against a sky blue background (you can get a piece of sky blue poster board at the dollar store). A light gray would also balance your colors and exposure but the blue background is more versatile because it can represent the sky in an outdoor scene. For less than a dollar you can also buy some pieces of scrapbooking paper printed to look like grass. Then your family could be outside having a picnic!

  7. Hi Hailey, you're doing a great job. I just started playing with dolls when I was 27 so you have a great head start. I like your 1st family and will follow your blog. You're not too old to play with dolls. Like Vanessa said label yourself a collector and keep going :O)
